Centralized exchange transfers from Coinbase and Binance now available on MetaMask.

MetaMask Portfolio now supports centralized exchange (CEX) transfers from Coinbase and Binance, streamlining the process of transferring assets to your crypto wallet.

Many web3 users have digital assets divided across multiple wallets and accounts, creating a fragmented experience. Moving assets from one platform to another can be overly complicated and involve many steps—fraught with the risks of copying and pasting addresses incorrectly, and potential security concerns. MetaMask’s new CEX transfer feature is a solution to this issue, making your wallet more powerful, while also strengthening security.

Instant transfer of assets from centralized exchanges into your MetaMask wallet

MetaMask CEX transfers allow you to immediately move assets between accounts, eliminating the need for manually entering addresses. And, if you have bank accounts linked to your Coinbase or Binance accounts, purchasing crypto directly with your bank account to your MetaMask wallet has never been easier. No additional KYC necessary.

In April 2024, MetaMask partnered with Meld and Mesh to launch a feature that allowed users to track external CEX balances by linking Coinbase or Binance accounts directly from the MetaMask Portfolio dashboard. Now, you can view CEX balances, and also transfer assets from these exchanges into your MetaMask wallet. Neither MetaMask, nor our partners in this integration, will ever have access to your exchange login credentials, or share your wallet addresses with third parties.

CEX transfers will initially support Coinbase or Binance accounts, with expansion to additional exchanges on the horizon. No fees will be charged when transferring digital assets from exchanges to MetaMask. A nominal transaction fee of 0.25% will be applied when transferring from MetaMask to centralized exchanges. Network gas fees also apply.

By bridging the gap between self-custodial and centralized platforms, MetaMask is paving the way for a more powerful, integrated, and user-friendly DeFi ecosystem. Head to MetaMask Portfolio today to get started with CEX transfers.
