关于 Worldcoin (WLD)
World, formerly known as Worldcoin, is a partially decentralized, community governed, blockchain project that was launched in July 2023 by OpenAI’s Sam Altman, alongside Alex Blania and Max Novendstern. Worldcoin was founded in order to prove human identity online, to differentiate real users from bots or AI agents.
Its native cryptocurrency is called WLD. It is an ERC-20 token that is compatible with the Ethereum network. You can receive WLD tokens by providing your biometric data. To do so, your iris is scanned using a device called the Orb. This process creates a unique World ID. Biometric data of your retina is then converted into a cryptographic hash in order to maintain user privacy. According to World, biometric data is not stored onchain, meaning in theory it is not accessible to hackers. WLD launched in July 24, 2023.
Today, WLD’s main use case is for digital verification, governance, and reward campaigns. WLD holders are often from emerging markets or countries where access to stable financial and digital systems is limited. 价格历史
