When a transaction is made by someone on a payment network like Flexa, AMP tokens are locked into a smart contract. This action ensures that the recipient of the transaction is paid. In other words, AMP is used to secure and settle transactions onchain, reducing risks like network inconsistencies and transaction reversals.
