Trade Real World Assets

Real World Assets (RWAs) are tokenized versions of traditional assets, like US stocks, ETFs, commodities, treasuries, funds and private credit. MetaMask has partnered with Ondo Stocks to bring 400+ RWAs into MetaMask Swaps, giving users global access to US markets (supported regions only).

RWAs on MetaMask are powered by Ondo Stocks, formerly Ondo Global Markets and sometimes called Ondo. Ondo Stocks tokenizes publicly traded US stocks and ETFs, so non-US investors can buy, transfer and sell securities-backed tokens from their MetaMask wallet. You get a token that gives you total-return exposure to the underlying stock or ETF. That includes its price movements, dividends (reinvested, net of withholding taxes) and corporate actions. You don’t directly own the underlying asset, and you don’t get shareholder voting rights.

Example: AAPLon tracks Apple Inc. (AAPL). The “-on” suffix marks Ondo Stocks tokenized assets, and prices are quoted in USD.

You can buy, sell and trade RWAs like any token via Swaps on MetaMask.

1. Open MetaMask.

2. Tap the Swap button.

3. Choose the token you want to swap from and enter at least $5. Example: USDC on Ethereum.

4. Choose the tokenized asset you want to swap to. Example: GOOGLon on Ethereum.

5. Check the details, then tap Submit to confirm your transaction.

You can generally buy or sell Ondo RWAs on MetaMask 24/5, from 8:05pm ET (New York time) on Sunday through 7:59pm ET on Friday, on Ethereum mainnet and BNB Chain. Transferring and trading Ondo RWAs peer-to-peer on MetaMask is available 24/7.

Afghanistan, Algeria, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, China, Crimea, Cuba, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR), Eritrea, European Economic Area, Hong Kong, Iran, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions (Ukraine), Libya, Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR), Malaysia, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Russia, Singapore, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Switzerland, Syria, Venezuela, the city of Sevastopol, United Kingdom, and the United States or any of its states, possessions, territories or federal districts.

• Bankruptcy-remote structure: tokens are issued from a special purpose vehicle with independent directors. Its assets, books and accounts are kept separate from Ondo Finance Inc. and Ondo Foundation.

• Fully backed and overcollateralized: each token is backed by the underlying asset, such as stocks or ETFs, plus additional collateral.

• Daily transparent attestations: Ankura Trust Company verifies holdings independently. All holdings are at US-registered custodial broker-dealers.
