About Convex Finance (CVX)

Convex Finance is a DeFi protocol that was launched in May 2021. It optimizes rewards for Curve Finance liquidity providers and CRV token holders by pooling assets to maximize yield and governance power. It is built on Ethereum and allows users to earn boosted CRV token rewards and trading fees without locking CRV thus simplifying yield farming and improving capital efficiency.

Its native token CVX is used for staking to earn a share of the protocol’s revenue, participating in governance, and vote-locking (vlCVX) to direct Curve’s emissions and influence Convex decisions. Users who stake CRV or Curve LP tokens on Convex will receive extra rewards in CVX, benefiting from the protocol’s aggregated veCRV holdings.

Convex’s collective model amplifies rewards, reduces the barriers to boosted yields, and strengthens governance influence across Curve and related ecosystems, making it a key player in the “Curve Wars” and broader DeFi yield optimization landscape.
