Injective Protocol is an Layer 1 (L1) blockchain built for decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols and decentralized exchanges (DEXs), created in 2018 by Eric Chen and Albert Chon. The network was launched as part of Binance Labs’ incubation program, a web3 start-up accelerator. Injective supports cross-chain interoperability, with native integration of Ethereum, IBC-compatible chains such as Cosmos Hub, AtomOne, Axelar, dYdX Protocol, Stargaze, Mantra, Cronos, Sentinel, and non-IBC chains, such as Solana and Polkadot. Its native cryptocurrency, Injective (INJ), was launched in October 2020.
