About Binance USD (BUSD)

Binance USD, aka BUSD, is a fiat-backed stablecoin launched in September 2019 by Binance and Paxos. BUSD allows you to transact and store value in a stable digital currency.

Stablecoins are usually pegged to a traditional asset like the US dollar (USD) or the Euro, and  aim to stay affixed in value. One stablecoin typically equals one unit of the asset it represents. For example with BUSD, every 1 BUSD issued has $1 USD or an equivalent asset held in reserve by Paxos, a regulated financial institution.

BUSD is an ERC-20 and BEP-20 token that is compatible with the Ethereum network and with Binance Smart Chain. With BUSD, you can transact with a price-stable asset across multiple blockchain ecosystems, increasing accessibility, liquidity, and interoperability of crypto networks. Your BUSD can be redeemed for USD at any time through approved partners. BUSD holders are typically Binance ecosystem participants who use the token for trading, liquidity, and futures contracts.
