About Illuvium (ILV)

Illuvium is an decentralized blockchain-based, open-world, role playing game, launched in September 2020 by the Warwick brothers, Aaron and Kieran Warwick. Illuvium is built on Ethereum. Its native cryptocurrency, called ILV, was created in March 2021, and is an ERC-20 token that’s compatible with the Ethereum network.

An AAA-quality game, Illuvim takes place on an alien world, where players must capture, train, and battle characters called Illuvials. Each Illuvial is represented by a unique NFT; there are over 100 of them.

In the game, you can earn rewards in the form of synthetic ILV (sILV) tokens, by taking part in quests as well as winning battles. An sILV is used in-game only, and is pegged 1:1 with ILV tokens. However, you cannot convert an sILV to an ILV. This allows players to bypass the 12-month vesting period for ILV rewards and use their earnings immediately within Illuvium.

The main use cases for ILV are in-game utility, governance, staking, and rewards. ILV holders are gamers and community-driven DeFi traders.
